This week Smokie, got a one way ticket to Doggie HeavenI felt it appropriate to give him a little place of remembrance, (even if I still don't know after all these years which way we spell his name) because he was always apart of my childhood (late childhood) memories. There was not a camping trip or family ride in the truck where he was not with us.
I remember thinking he was the coolest dog ever, when I was younger because he used to dive under water to retrieve anything we threw out there. He was my running buddy when I got a little older.
Even though I have been away from home for many years, it was hard to say goodbye to my old friend.

I'm so sorry to hear about Smokey (Smokie) :) I remember him well.
