Week Five of 1/2 Training
20 weeks ago I set a goal and here's how I've done so far. I set the goal to run at least five times a week, I only did that once in almost five months. I ran 32 out of 100 days, thats 32%. If I just ran one mile each of those five days, I should have ran at least 100 miles by now, I have only achieved 61 miles so far. I haven't dropped a single pound and I haven't felt like I'm improving much on my running pace or endurance, although now I see my numbers, there really isn't any reason I should see some improvement.
On the positive side of things (Which is where I want to dwell) I have accumulated almost 131 miles worth of walking and running in the last 5 months. Most weeks, I walked if I couldn't find it in me to run. But most importantly is the fact that although my running numbers are disappointing, and not much to be proud of, I haven't quit!!! In five months I have managed to convince myself to get off my lazy butt and do something I don't particularly love.
I am now focusing on running four days a week, stretching and strengthening myself two days a week and resting on Sunday's (I'm five weeks into this and I have not accomplished that yet either).
