This Has Got to be Why I Keep Having Kids

I put out our Halloween decorations today. I know it's early, but I was feeling the vibe.
After I finished I went to the General Relief Society Conference and left Derik home with the kids. When I was driving home from the conference I passed Derik and the kids who were out for a walk. I honked my horn at them and gave them a hearty wave. When Alivia finally realized it was me honking at her, she got so excited, she started smiling and waving and my little heart melted. Sometimes I have these moments that are so sweet and touching and I just know that life couldn't be any sweeter. After all my impatience and snapping and neglectfulness that little angel acted like I was somebody special like I meant the world to her! She actually got excited just to see me, I'm quite sure no one else in the world could ever feel that way (and the poor thing is stuck with me night and day), so thank you Alivia for making my day.

I'm such a sucker for this girl!

When I reached home, I quickly got out of the car and started to head towards Derik and the kids. As they rounded the corner of the sidewalk and headed up our drive way, Alivia took notice of the Halloween lights that had kicked on, and with all the pure and unadulterated joy only a child could muster she yelled "Oh Cool, Oh Cool" as she pointed at the lights.
As if I wasn't already filled to the brim with motherly love and adoration, what a cutie! The kid knows like ten or so words, so it cracks me up that she has started to call things "cool"! Alivia's Vocab as of now....
D = Dylan
Dad
Mom
WHY....Which she repeatedly uses over and over when ever I ask her to do or stop doing something. I really have to laugh at myself over this one, because I don't honestly think Alivia is actually asking me a question (not yet at least), rather she knows it will illicit a response from me every time.
Searrrrr-e-allll = Cereal
B = Bread
Bought-le = Sippy Cup
Cool!
Where's......D, Dad, Bought-le.....
NO!!!
Choo-Choo, anything that is big or noisy falls under this word.

For a brief moment tonight I forgot all about the temper tantrums and all the naughty little messes she's totally into making and for a few glorious seconds I found complete and utter joy in motherhood. These really are the moments where I know why I just had to have another child. These are the moments I realize how much joy can be found in the world of a child. These are the kind of moments I live for, love and am eternally grateful for.

I love moments like that too...it's hard sometimes that they are few and far between, but they seem like enough to keep you going. I LOVE that picture of her too...her eyes are gorgeous!

Those are seriously the moments that make life worth living and the hard days bearable! She is such a little dollie, and I'm glad you were able to have a break on Saturday. I always feel so much better after I come back from having some "me" time.

That little Alivia is the street's pride and joy! We love her too. What a pretty little dolly!

BTW- both my boys think your house is the coolest. They made me dig out my "decorations" and they were pretty unimpressed with the meager offerings. So, thanks for having some awesome stuff out!
