Weekend Get Away

Over the last year Mr. Giovannoni has been part of an advisory counsel . As a thank you for all that the advisory counsel has done, his employers treated the entire counsel and their spouses to dinner and a nights stay at The Canyon's Grand Summit Hotel in Park City....Isn't it beautiful?


I was running extremely late, so Derik and I missed out on the hors d'oeuvres, but I did make it up there in time for us to have a prime rib and salmon dinner. It's just a cryin shame I'm not into beef or fish, or I might have actually been in heaven! After dinner everyone made their way to the bar to socialize and drink (apparently it was announced that the bar tab was being covered). So Mr. Goivannoni and I made our way to our room to figure out what exactly we were going to do with ourselves.
Mr. Giovannoni found himself rather thrilled about the flat screen TV, while I was enamored with the fireplace and the gigantic heart shaped jetted tub.
Our view was good too, this was the quaint little patio just below our room.

And I'm pretty sure I've never slept in a bed like this before...

Might be the first time in my life I've awoke and not had a back ache.

Aren't you jealous?!?

So despite a rather large number of almost comedic disappointments, (like me being late and missing the hors d'oeuvres ...thanks to Homer Simpson they will always be Horse Due Vers to me...and the fact that we weren't raging alcoholics, when the bar tab was being covered, and the fact that I had a raging horrible, make you want to throw up, kind of headache and there wasn't an ounce of Tylenol anywhere, or the fact that the Kitchen refused to take our in room service order because they claimed the kitchen was closed when the flier clearly stated that it was open. And then there was the whole breakfast fiasco....The kitchen kept telling us that most of their breakfast items we no longer being served, and when we finally settled on something they were willing to cook, they still got our order wrong and they charged us eight bucks for water!!!!) It was absolutely wonderful to kick back and watch the animal channel and soak it up in the tub, and sleep in a bed that didn't give me a back ache!
It was fun to experience what an "AAA Four-Diamond resort" was like. It was exceptionally generous of Derik's employers to treat us. I got to have my cake and eat it to.
I'm especially grateful to Nyles and Kira for watching my kiddo's, I owe you guys big time!
