It's Gone

I'm not sure if it's a permanent change or not but my natural curl is gone.
I whacked a considerable amount of hair off in hopes that removing some of the length would help the curl bounce back, it DID NOT work.
I always hated my curls when I was younger, but now they are gone I'm really sad.
I learned how to really take care of them and love them in the last four years, so I'm not surprised that I actually shed a good amount of tears the other day after scrunching and pampering my hair only to discover there is no curl there anymore.
My former glorious curly hair.

It might be hormonal, but I suspect the chlorinated water is what has destroyed it.  I'm used to it now but I can remember for the longest time after we moved here that I would smell just like I got out of the pool when I was done showering.  I still can't drink the tap water because it's like taking a mouth full of pool water.  But I'll take chlorinated water over having my water taste and smell like algae, which is just about the only memory I have of the time I spent a few weeks at my aunts in Texas when I was a teen.
But I digress...
I want my curls back!
I don't like the scraggly mess I have now.
